Yes we know. The wrong Dicken’s opener. What a fail… just like our failed attempts at diving into that naive idea of Queer + Decadence + Joie de Vivre = Fun Times Always!!

Anthems about how “Finally it has happen to Me!” and “Sisters are doing it for Themselves” were there to swing us out into a world full of loving lesbians, hot hot boys and sophisticated genderqueer queens, far far away from that boring beige straight Normtopia.

Did it? Is it? What are we waiting for?

Are our Gay Expectations too high? Too low? Too post-presumptious???

Lovesongs rarely match the experience of a romance in the bushes and it rained on your dyke wedding; but who cares when we can thera-pie it all away with jokes and bad puns!!

On this Opening Evening in PCCC*s new home castle in Meidling, Denice Bourbon would like to see YOU, The Audience, dressed up, down, side to side, round and round and over the top!

„Kicking-up, statt punching-down“ ist das Credo von PCCC*ꢀ–ꢀVienna’s First Queer Comedy Club. Immer mit einem Themenschwerpunkt versehen, bringt PCCC* Performer_innen auf die Bühne, die Witze jenseits von Zuschreibungen und Ausschlüssen erzählen. Die Performer_innen vereint das Grundverständnis, dass Humor ein politisches Werkzeug ist, das zu gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen beiträgt. Humor, so wie ihn PCCC* etabliert hat, deckt sehr schnell auf, wer aus welcher Position heraus über wen Witze machen kann. Politische Comedy im Sinne von PCCC* beruht auf Austausch und Reflexion. Vor jeder Vorstellung treffen sich die Performer_innen des Abends, um gemeinsam mit einer Sensitivity Reader die Texte umzuformulieren, sie zu kontextualisieren und zu diskutieren. Ein Ziel dahinter ist, strukturelle Ungleichheiten nicht zu reproduzieren sowie zu reflektieren, aus welcher Position heraus die Performenden den Witz erzählen.

Denice Bourbon, the godfucking mother of queer Vienna, wurde 2023 für ihre Arbeit mit dem Májstorin*-Orden ausgezeichnet, der FLINTA-Personen für ihren queer-feministischen Aktivismus auszeichnet.
